Critical Discourse Analysis

In terms of subject position, what rights and obligations are members of the academic society have?

1.      STUDENT

RIGHTS	OBLIGATIONS
- The student get an oportunity to come late maximum 15 minutes - The student can get the “remidi” if they didn’t pass the examination. - The student is given oportunity to ask the lecturer if they did not understand about the material giving by him or her. - The student can protest to the lecturer if they did not satisfied with their grade.	- The student must attend UK 1 until UK 4 to pass the subject. - In order to allow to join the the final exam, the students must attend minimum 75% from the whole class meeting. - The student cannot wear T-shirt and sandals to come to the class - The student will get the fine if they are late to return the book in the library.

There are some rights and obligations that are not fulfilled such as if the student still don’t understand about the material given by the lecturer, they don’t ask the lecturer. It because the student are too lazy to ask or they don’t want to be judged as a foolish by another student. Another obligation that is still not fulfilled is the fact that the students still wearing the T-shirt or sandals to come to the class.

2.      LECTURER

- The lecturer hve an oportunity to come late maximum 15 minutes. - They can decide whether give “remidi” to the students who didn’t pass the exam or not. - The Lecturers can drive the student who did not bring the book out of  the class.  It is also occured to whom that did not do their assigments. - If the student wear T-shirt or sandals, the lecturer can drive them out. - They can cut down the grades of the student’s assigment if they submit it lately.

-     The lecturer must give the material in Sylabus clearly to the students. -     The lecturer must attend to the class minimum 75% from the whole meeting sceduled, in order to be able to hold the final examination, -     The lecturer mus give UK four times in a semester -     If there is a student who protest about her/his grade, the lecturer must explain the reason transparantly -     The lecturer must answer the question from the student about the material. -     If there will be a free class, Lecturer must inform the student minimum a day before.

There are some rights and obligations that are not fulfilled such as the 75% attending to the class in order to be able  to hold the final examination. In fact, there are some lecturer who can still hold the examination with attending the class less then 75% from the whole class meeting. And the other is students are often protest because there are some lecturers who didn’t inform the student about the free class.

3.      ADMINISTRATION OFFICERS

OBLIGATIONS

-  Break Time at 12 o’clock -  They are allowed not to serve the students who wear sandals. -  Serve the students and lecturer kindly.

-   Manage the administration of the faculty. -   Serve both the student and the lecturer. -   Make sure that the facilities of the faculty work well. -   Make the letter which related the faculty interest. -   Help the student who need a letter for student who will take the apprentice. -   Manage the received and sent letters. -   Help the lecturer if they have a problem in using class facilities.

There are some rights and obligations that are not fulfilled such as they often serve the students unfriendly.
